Avenue A Turn Lane Modification – While you are out on the town, take notice of the new lane assignments on S. Avenue A at Wheeler Avenue. The center lane has become a left turn only lane and the right lane now allows motorists to turn right or continue straight through the intersection. These changes only affect northbound traffic using Avenue A at Wheeler.
Traveling this route should seem more natural now, as the lane assignments are more consistent with most intersections of similar design.
We’re are happy to see these changes and hope they will help alleviate some of the confusion motorist face as they travel through this intersection. We appreciate TxDOT for working with us to correct this issue!
