GAMBLING PROMOTION
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
At approximately 1:05 p.m., investigators with the Aransas Pass Police Department served a search warrant at the Dueling Pistols bar located at 157 S. Commercial Street for an illegal gambling operation.
The investigation began back around October 2018 as a result of several expressed concerns from folks within the community. Since then, investigators performed several undercover operations to confirm the gambling operation was, in fact, taking place. Working closely with San Patricio County Attorney, Tamara Cochran’s office, investigators were able to obtain enough evidence of a crime to obtain a search warrant. That warrant was served this afternoon.
Investigators seized several computers involved, a video server, and other items of evidentiary value. Additionally, the owner of the bar and two of his bar employees were arrested. Two patrons inside the bar who were actively engaged in gambling were cited for gambling and released.
