This afternoon, Aransas Pass police detectives followed up on a Crime Stoppers tips which talked about drug dealing taking place at a residence in the 900 Blk. of N. McCampbell. The tip mentioned 21-year-old James Salazar as the person responsible for selling the drugs. Additionally, detectives sought to arrest Salazar for a shooting he was involved in on the 14th of this month.
While surveilling the residence, they observed Salazar and made contact with him. Salazar was immediately arrested and taken to jail. A subsequent search of the residence turned up several guns, cash, approximately 60 ounces of marijuana, marijuana plants, around 300 Xanax pills, and drug paraphernalia.
Salazar remains in custody charged with deadly conduct. Additionally, charges related to the drug crimes are pending.
