The search warrant stemmed from internal intelligence and the arrest of Joe Delgado (24 years of age) for burglary of a vehicle (warrant).
Officers began their investigation after receiving a report on 09-17-2017 for a stolen generator. A patrol supervisor located the generator through an online search. At that time, Delgado was in the process of trying to sell the generator.
During his crime spree, Delgado had moved from place to place, and he was ultimately tracked down to a local motel. After arrest, Delgado declined to provide consent to search his motel room, which led detectives to seek a search warrant. The search warrant was granted and detectives returned to the motel room and search it. During the search, detectives recovered additional stolen property.
Currently, Delgado has been charged with burglary of a vehicle. Detectives now work to secure additional arrest warrants for Delgado. In all, Detectives believe five property crime cases were solved, as a result of this investigation. Delgado is currently being held in the San Patricio County jail, and his bond is set at $5,000.00.
