On Thursday 02/20/14 at approximately 9:49 P.M., an Aransas Pass PD officer conducted a traffic stop on maroon Ford F-150 in the 100 Blk. of S. Commercial Street. The officer stopped Roy Trejo AGE 31 because he was using his cellular phone while driving. Use of a cell phone while driving in Aransas Pass is against the City’s newly adopted ordinance.

Upon contact with Trejo, the officer observed him spraying cologne on his legs. The officer was also overcome by the odor of marijuana emanating from the passenger compartment of the vehicle. After thoroughly searching the vehicle, officers found Trejo in possession of over 3 ounces of marijuana, 3 grams of cocaine, and drug distribution materials. Trejo was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance.
