Racial Profiling, Complaint, and Compliment Process

We remain committed to the services we provide.  However, policing can be a difficult task, and on occasion during difficult times, our actions are subject to scrutiny.  Police are human but often respond to inhumane situations that test the boundaries of human response.  For that reason, we constructively evaluate our staff regularly to provide oversight and training.

The following information outlines our racial profiling. We also detail how we perform internal investigations.  We can’t improve upon problems we do not know exist. Likewise, we are eager to receive your compliments.

Compliments are regularly shared with staff and sometimes shared publicly. Compliments are motivating to staff, and encouraging to all knowing that our diligent and often difficult efforts do not go unrecognized, so thank you!

Our business is public service, and we believe in holding ourselves accountable to you, our public. We strongly feel the service we provide needs to be above reproach, and we continuously strive to maintain that goal.

Racial/Bias-Based Profiling

Each year, we report to TCOLE the number of stops made and particularly required racial profiling data. We also participate in a an auditing program to delve deeper into our traffic enforcement trends. Our goal is to make sure enforcement is fair and consistently equal no matter one’s race, religion, sexual preference, or other cultural beliefs.

Here are those reports & audits…
