Training

The Aransas Pass Police Department is a full-fledged training facility for Law Enforcement Officers with recognized contract training provider status through the State of Texas licensing board, TCOLE (Texas Commission on Law Enforcement).  Our training division provides training to all surrounding law enforcement agencies and is known for raising the bar in police training excellence throughout the Coastal Bend.

Because we offer training publicly, you too can view and register for upcoming training. View our training calendar and register within the posted events. Some courses may entail a cost to the student. If required, the cost for the course will be stated within the event listing.

FAQs

Our training budge is limited. However, we feel that much of the training we provide our staff is far too valuable not to share. Therefore, we’ve chosen to share much of our training with surrounding departments and ancillary governmental agencies. Any monies we do receive will be used to further our training mission.

Unless otherwise noted in the class posting, training dress attire is business casual or uniform. Closed-toe shoes are required, and shorts are not allowed. Deviation from the standard training attire may be altered by the instructor or training coordinator to meet the individual needs of the class. Any deviation will be listed on the class posting.

Pre-payment is not required to register. However, all course fees are due at the time of attendance. If payment is not received at the start of the first day of class the student will not be allowed to attend. (Sorry but we sometimes require your funds to cover our expenses.) Check, Money Order and Cash are all accepted.  Make checks payable to the City of Aransas Pass. Please indicate course name on the check. A receipt will be provided. NO REFUNDS will be given.

Send payments to the Aransas Pass Police Department located at 600 Cleveland Blvd. Aransas Pass Texas, 78336

Students are required to attend the entire training session so that successful completion can be reported to TCOLE. If a situation arises, absences will be reviewed by the course instructor and training coordinator. A student’s failure to cancel with proper notification to the instructor or training coordinator within 72 hrs. of the start of the class, may cause a loss of training privileges with the Aransas Pass Police Department (for all and any training hosted, sponsored, or provided) for a period of no less than 6 months from the date of the class in question.

To register for a class, use the registration link within the course listing on our training calendar.   You will receive an email confirmation if your registration was received.   However, you are not admitted into the course until you’ve received a personalized confirmation from the training coordinator.
