Public Information Requests (Open Records Requests) are answered in the order they are received and in accordance with Chapter 552 of The Government Code. We only respond to requests from 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday excluding weekends and holidays. All requests must be in writing.
Basic information will always be released. However, some information is restricted from public release. In cases where we feel the specifically requested information should not be released, a Texas Attorney General Opinion (open letter ruling) will be sought.
Accident reports, digital media, or extensive record requests may require payment up front before they are released. In the event you request records that require an upfront payment, you will be notified via email or mail that your request requires payment prior to completion.
