Case Summary: On Friday September, 27, 1991 at approximately 8:00 pm, while at the Aransas Pass Shrimporee, Henry Ray Brown was murdered. He was shot one time in the chest with a .22 caliber handgun. He was seen talking to two men at the time of the shooting. Witnesses report hearing one shot they say sounded like a firecracker, and then saw the victim take several steps and collapse. The victim was shot in front of what is now the Aransas Pass City Hall near the intersection of Lott and Cleveland.
One man who was seen talking to the victim was wearing a yellow and black long-sleeved shirt. This subject was with his father who was later labeled as a suspect in the case. This suspect passed away in 2003 but the case remained unresolved. The motive for the murder is unknown and the weapon in this case was never recovered.
