At its Monday evening meeting this past week, the City Council approved a speed reduction for the entire Harbor Heights Subdivision, which is located off Avenue A and Deberry Avenue. The new speed limit of 15 MPH applies to ALL streets within the subdivision and will take effect upon publication in the City’s paper of record (Thursday, December 26, 2024.)
Once the signage is installed, APPD officers will begin enforcement.
The City and Harbor Heights community worked together to enact this speed reduction at the request of residents and their HOA. The reduction is based on situational traffic experiences and the fact that many children and residents often play and walk in the area. APPD’s partnering goal is to maintain traffic and pedestrian safety throughout this new subdivision and our community.
