Sherwin Amacher


Lead Animal Control Officer Sherwin Amacher started with Aransas Pass Animal Control in May 2022. Sherwin came to us from the City of Corpus Christi Animal Care Services, where he began his career and gained a vast amount of knowledge in Animal Control, including experience and training in Bite Investigations and Animal Cruelty Investigations. ACO Amacher has earned multiple certifications in the Animal Control field and is our community’s Local Rabies Control Authority (LRCA). Sherwin prides himself on serving the community through education and compassion for our human and animal residents.  Amacher enjoys daily interactions with the animals in the shelter and the process of finding them furever homes!

Justin Garcia

Justin GarciaJustin joined Aransas Pass Animal Control in 2022, but he was no new face to the Police Department. Justin was previously an explorer with the Aransas Pass Public Safety Explorer for over five years. Justin completed his field training and completed his Basic Animal Control Officer Training in August 2022 and has since completed additional training in canine behavior and cruelty investigations. Justin prides himself on being able to reunite owners with their lost pets and being able to be the voice of abused animals through his investigations.
