Community Heroes Recognized

This evening before the City Council, I had the honor of recognizing two young community heroes for their lifesaving efforts this past month. Each of these youngsters acted swiftly and courageously under stress and with little or no formalized training. If not for their astute observation and swift response, the lives tended to might not be with us today.

Aransas Pass is an incredible community with residents who are willing to step up and help out a brother and sister in need and during their most critical moment. Please help me in congratulating these two for their outstanding efforts in saving another’s life! Well done, Gracie and Arturo!!

Additionally, our Telecommunications Supervisor and staff were so inspired by 6-YOA Gracie’s outstanding courage under stress they are working on a curriculum to put on training within our schools. The training will help other youth within the community prepare for a similar event should they find themselves in one.
