EVENT #23-8174, FATAL CRASH
This afternoon around 5:30 PM, responders were called to the area of Hwy 35 Business and W. Gile Ave. for a major crash.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a 3-vehicle crash with several injuries. A 40 year of age male of Aransas Pass sustained serious injuries during the crash and was later pronounced deceased at an area hospital. Other injuries in this crash were minor.
The preliminary investigation indicated that the vehicle the deceased was operating was stopped to make a left turn when a vehicle struck the vehicle from behind, pushing it into an oncoming vehicle.
The operators of the other vehicles are being cooperative with the investigation. Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be a factor in the crash. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
