Assistant Chief (AC) Jones began with the Aransas Pass Police Department as a member of the police explorer program in 2002. Just four years later in 2006, Jones went on to be hired by APPD as a telecommunications officer and was promoted to communications supervisor just a couple of years later. In 2010, Jones attended the Del Mar Regional Police Academy, graduating as the top academic student, and transitioned from communications to the patrol division.
