Minor Alcohol Sting

Minor Alcohol Sting – This past month (November 2016) Aransas Pass Officers, Cpl. Jay Hinojosa and Ofc. Robert Brake, conducted undercover investigations at 15 businesses in the City. This operation targeted those establishments licensed to sell alcoholic beverages. In each operation, a minor child attempted to purchase alcohol, while in the presence of an law enforcement officer. In all, 5 locations failed the test and sold alcohol to the minor.

Those Who Failed:

Walmart – Made 2 illegal sales (APPD # 1600026568).
Stripes on Cleveland – Made 1 illegal sale (APPD #1600025677).

Homeport Liquor (Spanky’s) – Made 1 illegal sale (APPD 1600026594).
It should be noted that some of these employees made the sale even after inspecting the minor’s actual State ID card.
