Beginning today, our detective in charge of all registered sex offenders within the City Limits of Aransas Pass, Texas will be checking up on our offenders and providing them with stern instructions. We will be advising registered sex offenders to not participate during this Halloween trick-or-treating event. We will advise the offenders that it is best if they keep their lights off so as to not attract would-be trick-or-treaters. Parents escorting kids or talking with children about the safety issues with trick-or-treating need to be sure to instruct their children to avoid all residences with the lights out or whom are clearly not set up to accept participants of the holiday event.
The San Patricio County Adult Probation office will also be out enforcing probationary rules on all registered sexual offenders the night of Halloween. Should parents or children express concerns about suspicious activity, please contact the local police department immediately so that we can investigate further. For a complete list of registered sex offenders within the City of Aransas Pass, please see the State Website.
On behalf of all of us here at the police department, we would like to wish you all a safe and Happy Halloween!
