The Aransas Pass Police Department is a full-fledged training facility for Law Enforcement Officers with recognized contract training provider status through the State of Texas licensing board, TCOLE (Texas Commission on Law Enforcement). Last week we added two new instructors to our ranks.
Telecommunications Officer Rycca Martinez has been a dispatcher for 16 years and started with Aransas Pass Police Department in 2013. TCO Martinez has been a TCIC/TLETS Associate Trainer since 2019. TCO Martinez is well known in the dispatch community, and she has instructed countless Dispatchers, Jailers, and Police Officers in TCIC and TLETS procedures. By gaining her TCOLE Instructor Certification, she can now instruct other dispatch related courses.
Officer Adan Cruz has been with the Aransas Pass Police Department since 2017 and he was recently assigned as our newest Field Training Officer. Ofc. Cruz wanted to take his Field Training role to the next level and now he is able to instruct his fellow officers in the classroom setting.
Congratulations to TCO Martinez and Ofc. Cruz for gaining this certification. They put in a ton of work this week, and their hard work and dedication paid off.
