Don’t Let the Grinch Steal Christmas was the idea behind a recent training hosted by APPD.
This week, we partnered with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, The Area Agency on Aging, Rally Credit Union, and ValueBank Texas to bring the training course to officers from all over the coastal bend.
This course discussed the financial exploitation of vulnerable adults, the natural aging process, and offered a better understanding of dementia. The course also focused on current scams, what is expected in the future, and how we can work with the community to try to prevent vulnerable adults from falling for the “Grinch’s” schemes.
Thank you again to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, The Area Agency on Aging, Rally Credit Union, and ValueBank Texas for making this training happen.
KRIS 6 News did a more in-depth story on this training event. You can check it out HERE.
