Highway 35 at Marshall Lane
Officers were sent to a two vehicle major crash at the intersection of Marshall Lane and Highway 35. The crash involved an 18-wheeler and a passenger vehicle.
Upon investigation, officers found that as the passenger vehicle was crossing the highway, the 18-wheeler which was heading northbound t-boned the passenger vehicle on its driver’s side.
The driver and rear seat passenger were killed on impact. Fire and rescue crews had to use the jaws of life to remove one of the occupants. A front seat passenger was found to be in critical condition and transferred by ambulance to Spohn Shoreline Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the 18-wheeler was uninjured and no charges have been filed in this tragic crash.
