HWY 361 @ Harbor Island Road

*** UPDATE 8/14/2019 ***

Back on July 13th during the early morning hours officers responded to E. HWY 361 in reference to an auto/pedestrian hit and run. The victim was struck from behind while riding his motorized bike. At the time, he was crossing the Harbor Island Road bridge on his way home. EMS transported him to the hospital, treated him and then released him. He continues to recover from his injuries.

Info about the hit and run was shared with you first through this post and social media. As a result, an anonymous caller came forward with helpful information, and our investigation continued. Suspect Robin Senesac AGE 68 was identified and her vehicle was searched. The investigation resulted in the acquisition of a warrant for an accident involving personal injury (Hit & Run) – 3rd-degree felony.

Today, Wednesday, August 14, 2019, Senesac was arrested by the Port Aransas PD. This case and evidence will now be referred for criminal prosecution.

Just after 4 a.m. this morning, a 51 year of age male was traveling westbound over the last bridge on Highway 361 near Harbor Island Road. A vehicle traveling the same direction struck the cyclist with the right front side of the vehicle. The 51 YOA male cyclist struck his head on the ground receiving serious injuries. The motorist continued westbound failing to stop and check on the injured cyclist.

Currently, detectives have no leads in the case. We ask for your help. The vehicle that struck the cyclist will have damage on its right front side. It is possible there will also be gray or black paint from the bicycle transferred onto the vehicle from the impact.
