Police were just sent to the 1100 Blk.of S. Rife for a burglary in progress. Officers were informed that a black male suspect forced entry into the residence through a window. The suspect confronted the resident and verbally restrained them. The suspect stated he was looking for someone else in the residence. The suspect threatened the resident with a gun, telling them not to move.
After searching the residence, the suspect fled the residence on foot. The suspect’s whereabouts remains unknown at this time.
Police remain on scene and in the area in searching for the suspect.

Police have completed their search. The suspect was not apprehended and got away. We do believe the suspect targeted the location he broke into, looking for another subject. When the suspect discovered that the subject he was looking for was not there, he fled.
