On Sunday 07/07/2013 around 7:02 p.m., Aransas Pass Police Officers and EMS were dispatched to 161 N. 11th Street for a male subject who was bleeding from the throat. It was unclear what had happened as the 911 caller was extremely worked up. When officers arrived on scene, they encountered two male subjects with injuries. One male subject had an injury to his hand and the other was down with an injury to his throat.
According to witnesses on scene, Fodie Green AGE 30 and Billy Gay AGE 43 were working on a vehicle together. Billy Gay went to retrive a jack from the trunk of a vehicle. In doing so, Billy Gay observed a small 410 handgun. The handgun was loaded with one round. While manipulating the firearm, it went off. The projectiles from the 410 round went through Billy Gay’s hand and into Fodie Green’s neck. Fodie Green and Billy Gay were both transported to the hospital for emergency treatment. Shortly after, Fodie Green was pronouned dead.
Aransas Pass Police investigators continue to investigate this shooting.
