National Night Out, 2016

National Night Out 2016
National Night Out, 2016 Post Event Report – This year 335 people checked in to the Aquatic Center for this event. Most were residents of Aransas Pass. Guests enjoyed hot dogs, chips, bottled water, and popcorn. On behalf of our sponsors, 24 Ring Video Doorbells were raffled off.

Several city staff were present and volunteered. That staff included members of the police department, public works, aquatics center, and the civic center. Also assisting were the Aransas Pass Chamber Director Rosemary Vega and a private resident Diana Eyhorn along with her husband. They too played a significant role in the event.

Along with the free swim and movie, different organizations provided games that were played and prizes & toys for giveaways. APPD handed out Halloween bags containing Halloween safety information, small gifts, and candy. APPD, APFD, and AP EMS had a strong presence during the event. Many citizens expressed their appreciation for the presence.

We appreciate the following organizations for their support:
  • Aransas Pass Fire Department (and Sparky)
  • Tri-County EMS
  • Ingleside Volunteer Fire Department
  • Ingleside Parks and Recreation
  • Connections of Portland
  • AP Head Start
  • Emergency Management Director, Captain Lynn Pearce (as McGruff)
A HUGE shout out to the following for their awesome contributions:

For those whom I missed, please know that without you all this wouldn’t have been possible!

Special appreciation goes out to our community. Our strong community partnership made this year’s National Night Out a great success! Thank you!
