There’s a new scam targeting residents. As reported by one of our community partners just moments ago, she received a call about her Master Card. The caller called from #000-000-0000 and informed our resident that her credit card had been breached. The scamster would have continued on seeking private financial information to exploit her, but she was far too snappy to fall prey and bite the bait.
Our astute resident contacted the bank and confirmed the event was indeed a scam; and she also learned the scam was starting to make a frequent appearance in our area. After confirmation, she contacted us [the police] and provided us with the details so we could in-turn get the information out to you.
