Anthony Blake West AGE 29

Patrol officers actively searched the area but were unable to locate West. A detective was called to the scene and the investigation began. Due to the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident, a warrant was obtained for West for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Due to the violent nature of the offense and the fact that West does not have a permanent residence, assistance from the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force was requested. The task force began searching for West, which led them to the 400 block of Lang Road in Portland where they discovered an associate of his there and placed the area under surveillance.

A call was made to the Aransas Pass Police Department yesterday that West was in the area of the Lang Road address. The Marshals and Portland Police Department responded and found West hiding in the back seat of a vehicle. West was taken into custody and transported to the Aransas Pass Police Department for booking.

We appreciate the hard work and dedication of the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force along with the support we received from the Portland Police Department in the apprehension of this dangerous, violent felon.

Information on this case was delayed due to investigative, procedural needs. Please direct all outside inquiries to Det. Sgt. Frank Kent or Capt. Kyle Rhodes at 361-758-5224.
