Special Reminder – WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY

As many are already aware, we have some wonderful weather [I MEAN] ? winter weather headed our way. This unusually cold weather will have negative implications on our area. We at APPD are here for you if you need us, but please be mindful that this weather tends to tie us up with emergencies as well. The following information will help us all prepare for the issues this winter weather is likely to bring.

Caring for thy Neighbor.
Be mindful of those who are less able to care for themselves, their homes, and landscaping. Maybe you have an elderly neighbor that is not capable of wrapping pipes or covering shrubs. Lend a helping hand.
Caring for the Homeless.
We have a few resources and free blankets for our homeless population. Feel free to reach out to us if you come upon someone in need and without shelter. We likewise have officers keeping an eye out for our less fortunate during this severe weather.
Power Outage?
Save time, don’t call us! AEP wants you to report outages to them directly. You can report it at (877) 373-4858 or https://www.aeptexas.com/outages/.
Have to Drive?
Be sure to drive safe. Roads may be icy or snow covered. Before you go, check the live road conditions: https://drivetexas.org/.
Fishing Prohibited.
Remember, fishing has been restricted in our public waters. Be sure to read TPWD’s release about this environmentally protective measure: https://tpwd.texas.gov/newsmedia/releases/?req=20210213a.

Thank you, AP, and may you all enjoy this unseasonably, wonderful weather!
